Cancer Awareness Programs

Singaraju Cancer Foundation runs doctor-led awareness sessions for schools, colleges, corporates and communities across Hyderabad and Telangana. Each session covers early warning signs, screening, tobacco cessation and healthy habits — in simple language, with time for questions. Most cancers found early are curable; awareness is where cure begins.

Why awareness is our first medicine

In India, a large share of cancers are still diagnosed late — not because treatment does not exist, but because symptoms were not recognised, or fear delayed action. One hour of the right information changes that. People who attend an awareness session check their mouths, examine their breasts, book their screenings and — most importantly — stop ignoring symptoms.

What happens at a screening camp

  1. Registration and a short awareness talk — what cancer is, why early detection saves lives
  2. Risk questionnaire — tobacco use, family history, symptoms
  3. Clinical examination — oral cavity check for all; breast and cervical screening for women, conducted by trained medical staff with full privacy
  4. Same-day guidance — anyone with a suspicious finding receives a referral and clear next steps
  5. Follow-up — our team stays in touch with referred attendees until they complete their evaluation

What a session covers

  1. The cancers that matter here: oral, breast, cervical and lung — what they look like early
  2. Warning signs you must not ignore: the two-week rule for ulcers, lumps and unexplained bleeding
  3. Screening, demystified: what a Pap smear, mammogram and oral check actually involve
  4. Tobacco and gutka: honest facts, and practical ways to quit
  5. Everyday prevention: food, activity, vaccination (HPV) and sun safety
  6. Questions: every session ends with open questions — answered by a doctor, without judgement.

Formats we offer

  • Schools and colleges: age-appropriate sessions on tobacco resistance, HPV vaccination and healthy habits — building protection before risk begins
  • Corporates: workplace sessions on screening, stress, lifestyle and early detection; can be combined with a screening camp
  • Communities and RWAs: local-language sessions for residents, women’s groups and senior citizens
  • Online webinars: for teams and groups who cannot meet in person

Who leads the sessions

Sessions are led by doctors and trained educators associated with the foundation, including oncologist Dr. Mallik Singaraju for flagship events. We bring screening stories, real case patterns (never patient identities) and practical checklists — not just slides.
